Why Wangari

Wangari Global takes its name from Wangari Maathai, the Kenyan environmentalist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who founded the Green Belt Movement.
Maathai believed that meaningful change often begins with something simple: helping people clearly see the consequences of their actions. When communities understood how deforestation affected soil, water, and livelihoods, they did not need to be forced to act—they chose to plant trees.
At Wangari Global, we draw inspiration from this philosophy.

Wangari Global was founded by Ari Joury, a scientist and technologist working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, finance, and sustainability.
Ari spent nearly a decade in scientific research, completing a PhD in theoretical particle physics focused on AI-driven analysis of dark matter theories. This work developed a deep understanding of how meaningful structures can be uncovered within noisy data.
Following academia, Ari moved into weather insurance — and, to his own surprise, found that his models from particle physics were perfectly apt to modeling complex weather extremes. Later, moving out of insurance and into sustainable finance, it became clear to him that organizations were collecting enormous amounts of data, yet the insights needed for decision-making were often obscured by complexity.
Wangari Global was created to bridge that gap.
By combining causal inference, advanced AI techniques, and deep domain expertise, the company develops systems that transform enterprise data into clear, actionable insight for decision-makers.
